Phung is the Vietnamese word for Phoenix.
The Phoenix, along with the Dragon, Turtle, and Unicorn, is one of the most significant mythical creatures in Vietnamese mythology. Like in Western culture, it symbolizes rebirth, wisdom, and beauty. In earlier centuries, the Phoenix represented the Empress, while the Dragon symbolized the Emperor.
Phung is the all-purpose knife for Asian cuisine. It is perfect for precise slicing, dicing, and chopping. Whether it’s meat, fish, or vegetables, this knife is ideal for versatile use in your kitchen.
Each of our knives is handcrafted by a traditional blacksmith workshop in Cao Bang, in northern Vietnam.
